The U-8 is built for serious output from a compact 8-inch frame, handling 750W RMS and 1,500W peak on dual 2-ohm or dual 4-ohm coils. A 2.25” aluminum voice coil former and high-temperature copper coil maximize heat dissipation, while the solid pole with vent channels, aluminum shorting ring cap, rear gap-venting, and top-plate cooling channels keep the motor running cool. A full 18mm of one-way linear excursion (with mechanical capacity in excess of double the linear limits) paired with a Mega-Roll-style surround delivers incredible linearity. Optimized for small ported enclosures, the U-8 plays like an SA-8 v3 with more power handling, more x-max, and more output potential.

This enclosure is custom built specifically for the Sundown Audio UV1 MDF 8" subwoofer. Basshead Supply's Performance Series enclosures are subwoofer-specific boxes engineered for strong, clean output, built with a refined assembly process that leaves no visible screw holes. Every box is glued with Titebond III and internally braced, then pre-wired with a recessed satin-nickel binding post and OFC 10-gauge wire - built by hand in the USA. Made to order (2-3 week lead time) and shipping from JS Ultimate Sounds, your Basshead Supply dealer.
