Shop marine subwoofer enclosures at JS Ultimate Sounds — sealed and ported sub boxes built to handle moisture, sun and vibration on boats, UTVs and open-air vehicles.
Why Marine Enclosures Are Different
A standard MDF subwoofer box swells and falls apart the first time it gets wet. Marine enclosures use moisture-resistant materials, sealed seams and coated or marine-grade hardware so the box survives the environment it lives in. On open-air vehicles that also means construction that tolerates constant vibration.
Bass in Open Air
Open-air vehicles lose the cabin gain that makes bass easy in a car, so you generally need more cone area and more power to reach the same perceived output. Ported enclosures help by producing more output per watt around their tuning frequency — worth the extra space on a boat or UTV.
Complete the System
Pair an enclosure with a marine amplifier sized to the subwoofer's RMS rating, and add marine speakers for the front stage. Big systems on a boat or UTV need electrical support — see marine batteries and electrical. Wiring guidance is in our subwoofer install guide.
