Shop marine batteries and electrical at JS Ultimate Sounds — AGM and lithium batteries, isolators, terminals and wiring built for boats, UTVs and powersports vehicles running real audio systems.

Why Marine Electrical Is Its Own Problem

Boats and UTVs face a challenge cars don't: the engine often isn't running while the stereo is. That means your audio system draws from the battery with no charging to replace it, so reserve capacity matters more than it does in a car. A dedicated audio battery, isolated from the starting battery, is what keeps you from being stranded with a dead crank.

AGM vs Lithium for Marine

  • AGM — sealed, spill-proof, mounts in any orientation, tolerant of vibration, and works with standard charging. The straightforward choice for most builds.
  • Lithium (LiFePO4) — dramatically lighter with far more usable capacity, ideal where weight matters. Note that lithium generally needs a DC-DC charger rather than charging straight off the alternator.

Our lithium vs AGM guide covers the trade-offs, and the second battery guide explains isolators and safe wiring.

Don't Skip the Isolator

An isolator or DC-DC charger lets your audio battery drain while protecting the starting battery. On a boat that's not a nice-to-have — it's what gets you back to the dock.
